Welcome to the Underride Network,

We hope you find our site easy to navigate and full of useful information. Please inform us of any changes or additions you would like to see. The purpose of this site is to improve safety by providing easy access to truck safety related information. If you have a safety related article you would like to have posted, or would like to have a loved one added to the victim pages, please contact us by e-mail or phone. Our victim pages are open to all trucking victims from all countries including truck drivers. We do ask that an English version be included with other language versions. Please send underride statistics or photos for us to post on our site from your country, we would like to show the world wide scope of this tragedy.

The Underride Network is a coalition of volunteers composed of victim/survivors, law enforcement, health professionals, reconstructionists, lawyers, safety officers, truck drivers, fire fighters, trucking company owners, and safety researchers/professionals from around the world. We work to educate the public, government, law enforcement, and the trucking industry to the hazards and solutions to truck and trailer underride related fatalities and injuries. We need your help to make our transportation system work for all of us.

Millions have died and been injured around the world in crashes with heavy trucks. Can we continue to pay such a high toll in the name of progress. Research at Monash University in Australia and UNICAMP in Brazil have shown that engineering solutions to the underride tragedy exist and can be economically implemented. We must demand a new morality in our engineering and design practices and education. Human life is precious. We can build transportation systems that serve people rather than killing them. Trucking victims have suffered injury and death for the ecomomic progress of society. We must honor them, we must learn from their tragedy. We must pledge to stop this violence in their name and memory.

The industrial violence that we call the underride tragedy is a violation of the human rights of all citizens. There exists no right to kill in the name of progress or profit.

Please honor and support trucking victims. Demand safe trucking for society.

Thanks for visiting,
Stephen Hadley, Coordinator
